I live on Almshouse Road, and often saw Joe eating at Hall's Restaurant. I learned that he was a flyer in World War II. My Dad, who is 91, served in the Marines in the Pacific in WWII. Just last night, we were at the Burrsville Ruritan Oyster Fry and were sitting with Allen Chorman, another pilot. We talked about how none of us alive can imagine what it was like going through WWII. Thanks, Joe, for what you did. None can compare. Holly & Ty Case, Almshouse Road, Wyoming, DE

Joe was my very first flight instructor and soloed me 1962 that led to my years flying and teaching others to fly. My most memorable flight lesson with Joe was 11/22/63. After we secured the airplane, his wife ran out to tell us President Kennedy had been shot in Dallas. Joe had a great influence on my life and will live on in my memory. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. My prayers and condolences to his children. Hollis Anglin

Many thoughts and prayers are with you from the entire Anglin Family. We all loved Uncle Joe and he was definitely one of Scott's most favorite people. He accredited Uncle Joe with teaching him so much of what he knew about aviation.
Much love to you all.
