Welcome to the memorial page for

Diane Sampson Strain

August 26, 2015

Diane Sampson was born October 26, 1958, to the late Frank B. Sampson and Cora A. Holbrook-Sampson. Diane departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Milford Memorial Hospital.

Diane was educated in the Seaford and Bridgeville School Districts. She was a very loving and helpful person who knew no stranger. She was saved as a youth at Refuge Temple Revival Center under the leadership of the Late Apostle Leon Williams and Pastor Ethel H. Williams in Seaford, DE. In later years she attended Jesus Love Temple in Milford, DE under the leadership of Pastor D. Shockley.

Diane was an active member, singing in the choir, Sunday School Secretary and usher. In 1976, she graduated from Woodbridge High School in Bridgeville, DE and began working for Maryland Plastic in Federalsburg, MD. Diane remained there for approximately thirteen years. Once her children became adults, she relocated to Dover with her sister Linda and landed a job at Playtex until she was laid-off. Diane began working with an elderly lady while attending Medical Coding Certification classes at Delaware Tech & Community College. She then went to work for the Color Box Company in Harrington where she remained until her health began to fail. Diane’s condition began to worsen and she became unable to work.

Diane was taught at a young age to trust God and she did. She received a not so positive diagnosis and was hospitalized many times. She had no problem telling the doctors that her God was a miracle worker. Her faith in God sustained her well past the time the doctors had given her; the doctors were amazed. Her saying was, I have the faith and I believe God for my healing and she stuck to it until the Lord decided to call her to rest. She is loved by all who knew her.

Diane was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Sampson. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Larry D. Strain, her children, Nachelle N. Dickerson (Noah), William E. Dickerson Jr., and Jorden Strain, her grandchildren Matthew, Naomi and Willow Dickerson, her brothers, Frank B. Sampson Jr. (Mary), William Sampson (Felita), Dennis Sampson (Thelma) and Paul Sampson (Wendy), her sister Linda Sampson, her Father & Mother- in- law Joseph and Mary Brown, her brothers-in-law, Merlin Strain (Mavis), her best friends, Venida Jacobs-Martin, Dorene Bumpass and Beverly and Edward Downing, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.
