Please accept my deepest condolences on behalf of the loss of your loved one. During sad times like this, I take comfort in God’s promise to us found at Isa. 26:19: “Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! For your dew is as the dew of the morning, And the earth will let those powerless in death . . . come to life." This can be encouraging for us, because here we see that there will be a resurrection of those who’ve fallen asleep in death—which means we can see them again. We know we can trust this promise because God cannot lie. (Numbers 23:19) I sincerely hope these scriptures comfort your family as they have mine, and if you'd like to read the Holy Scriptures online, or learn more about God's promises for our loved ones asleep in death, please feel free to visit JW.org.

Sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that your dear one is safe in the memory of God, who will remember every detail about him and bring him back again. John 5:28, 29 gives this assurance.

Carl was a dear friend to me and my family for over 20 years. I'll never forget his laughter, sense of humor, and generosity. He was the type of friend that would never let you down and will be missed dearly.
