After courageously battling a lengthy illness, Rebecca Jo (Ford) Muche, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the loving arms of her family.  She was 76 years old.  Rebecca was born on September 24, 1938, in Royston, GA to the late Allen and Mary Sue Ford.

While supporting her husband during his active military service with the USAF, Rebecca volunteered for a number of worthwhile causes.  Her selfless support was especially critical in assisting service members and their families in Family Services and Support.  After her husband retired from the Air Force, she began her career at Sears, working at both the historical downtown Dover store and later at the Dover Mall location. Throughout the years she worked in several departments, as a customer service and sales representative, including automotive, paint, clothing, and finally appliances. In 1999, she retired from Sears after 27 years of service.

Rebecca was devoted to her family and cherished spending time with them.  Her love and affection was never ending.  She was affectionately known by many as "Mom Muche".  She enjoyed taking trips to the beach to go shopping with her two daughters, and spending many weekends camping with her husband. She loved her many Rottweiler’s and was an active member of the Colonial Rottweiler Club for several years.  They took pleasure in attending and participating in dog shows up and down the east coast with their show dogs.  The Westminster Show being the most memorable.  Rebecca was also a long time member of the Delaware Basket Makers Association, and soon became an accomplished Nantucket Basket weaver.  Many of her baskets won local awards for their beauty and artistry.  Always a generous heart, she loved donating her baskets to charitable events, auctions, or giving them as special gifts.

Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Jim Muche.  Together they were blessed with 56 years of marriage.  She also leaves behind her daughter, Charlotte Lewis, CCH and husband D. Michael Lewis, RN of Smyrna; as well as daughter Patsy Jester and husband Cliff Jester Sr. of Harrington; five grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE. 19934.  Friends may call two hours prior.  Committal Services will be private and held at a later date.
