Philip D Greene

Philip D. Greene, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at home with his family by his side.

Phil was born in Nebo, NC, son of the late Lois (Davis) and Charles Yates Greene.

He had worked as a self-employed drywall contractor and you couldn’t go for a drive with Phil without him being able to point out former work sites around the state.

Phil’s many interests revolved around his family and grandchildren.  He enjoyed bluegrass music, storytelling and was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Lions Club, Felton Odd Fellows, American Legion Post 0007 and the Felton United Methodist Church.  Phil served his country proudly in the U.S. Army stationed stateside during the Korean War.

He is also preceded in death by a brother Charles Greene and sisters Dorothy and Mary Ella Greene.

Phil is survived by his wife of 60 years Doris (Moore) Greene, children Linda Miller and husband Rusty of Greenwood, John Greene of Greenwood, Pam Hobbs and husband Eric of Viola and David Greene and wife Heidi of Dover, grandchildren Cody, Jayden and Alex Miller, Olivia and Alexandra Hobbs, Mason, Cole and Chase Greene and Danny Greene, brother Joe Greene and wife JoAnn of Springfield, MO, a host of nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law Kathy Joseph of Woodside, and an extended family of friends.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, January 21 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where family will begin receiving friends from 10 am until service time.  Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
