Katrina E West

      Katrina E. West, also known as Bonnie, was born in Milford Hospital, to Margaret & Alexander West, on November 22,1962. She departed to her Heavenly Home, on November 9,2016. Katrina was educated in Frederica Elementary School, Lake Forest High School, and on to Delaware State College; where she graduated with her Masters Degree. After completing her education, she worked at Del State for several years in Administration.

      While working at Del State, she joined Calvary Baptist Church, under Rev. Avant,  it was there she preached her trial sermon, and was ordained as an Evangelist. She later returned to her home church, Hubert A.M.E., in Frederica; where she served as an Evangelist. She was also a member of the choir. Katrina’s favorite song that she would so often sing at Huberts before her sickness was: “I’m a Soldier in the Army of the Lord.”

     She leaves to cherish her memories,her  father, Alexander West, Sr(Annie Lois); her mother, Margaret Young West; 3 brothers, Roger Young(Barbara) , of Frederica; Rev. James West(Latasha), of Norfolk, Va.; and Alexander West, Jr., of Virginia Beach,Va.. Very close friends, Rev.Vaughn(Gwen) & his daughter, Maria Monaguh. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

  Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, November 19, 2016, in Mt.Zion A.M.E. Church, Queen & Fulton St., Dover; where family and friends may view from 10-12.  Condolences may be sent via:  www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
