Joe was a very close friend to my brother Stevie and became friends to the entire Shane family in our teenage years. We lost touch as everyone grew up and went their separate ways. I have to say he did make an impact in this world. For me personally he was there to make me laugh when I went through my first teenage heartbreak and another very memorable time he helped me wrap all 3 of my younger brothers Christmas presents on Christmas eve last minute when my parents where going through a rough time. It really meant a lot to me. I'm saddened by his passing, but so very happy to know that there are two little boys that will carry him on. May you all find peace in the memories and knowing that he really did make an impact on everyone he encountered.

I cannot find the right words to say. Joe was a good man, hubby, and father. Cassy you and the boys mean the world to us and I am praying for you daily. I am so sorry for everyone in Joe's family. Thinking of you all. This was a loss that will never be forgotten. But remember Joe is in peace now watching over his boys. I pray that peace can be found.

I cannot tell you enough how sorry I am for your loss and the pain you are all going through right now. There isn't anything anyone can ever say to make anyone feel better at a time like this, but I do want you to know that I am thinking about you. I also wanted to say that Joe was such an awesome guy. He and I hit it off after we met, not even realizing that our dads worked together! :-) I got to spend an amazing year as one of his close friends; we hung out constantly!!! It was so much fun and sadly, I had to move the next year, and we lost touch. And, even sadder, I'm just now realizing the impact he really had on me. He was such a great friend and always made me laugh. The last time I saw him, he gave me a picture of his pride and joys, his little boys. I have it in my photo album at home :-). I never met them, but the light and happiness I saw in his eyes when he talked about those boys was brighter than any light I've ever seen. I'm so honored to have been able to say that I was a part of his life and that he was a part of mine. And, I also take comfort in knowing that he's up there with my mom too. We used to hang out at the house a lot too and he and my mom hit it off right away! So that's always a good thing to think about :-). Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you and just remember, he's always by your side :-)
