My deepest sympathies to my beloved Beiler family - for the loss of your dear John. What a wonderful Christian man, son, father & husband he was! Such a role model for the men of the world! He carried his burdens without any message of sympathy or incompetence - and this lovely picture reflects that - and his likeness to his dad and brother Ben. I smile to think what a nice reunion he and Darlene and his dad are having in heaven. I will be there for you today in Dover with my presence and prayers and hugs.

Dear Shirley,

I just received the news that John has gone to be with the Lord. Please accept my deepest condolences. I join you in grieving his loss; your relationship and family have been a wonderful example of all that’s best in Christian love and commitment, and John has been a shining model of Jesus’ grace poured through a human life.

As a ministry, we salute John’s life of service to the Lord and others. You and he have our deepest admiration and respect. As you know, Chuck Colson founded this ministry on the belief that there is no life beyond God’s transforming love. Through your generosity, you and John have extended the reach of Prison Fellowship, helping us seek out many who are lost and hurting. John also made many trips into prison with Chuck – a journey that has daunted others – so that he could share the Good News with his customary love for the “least of these.” His presence behind bars, proving that limitations are a matter of perspective, was a true encouragement to many men completing their sentences. I now rejoice at the thought of Chuck and John re-united, enjoying the company of each other and of their Savior.

John was a man who lived his Christian faith and was a great witness to many, many people. We will miss him. John had a rare combination of gifts, and he lived his life richly serving God with excellence. No one can ask for more.

As you are lifted up by me and many others, I trust that God will pour out His sustaining grace and mercy upon you and your family.

For His Kingdom,

Jim Liske

Our deepest and heartfelt sympathies go out to the family in the loss of their loved one, but in gain to our Risen Saviour! I knew Brother Beiler from Hyles-Anderson College. When I worked for Dr. Evans, he performed our wedding in the Beiler Auditorium. Your generous gifts to Christian eduction through the college will live on, and many rewards will greet you in Heaven for Eternity! We are praying for you all.
