Dear Holly and Janet, I send my condolences to you both after hearing of Ty's death. What a courageous man he was. I am still grieving after just a year since Babe's death; another special man who never gave up. My prayers are with you. sincerely Dotty

I knew Ty as a teenager when he was seeing. He was Holly's first love in DE and even rode the bus, which stopped in Washington, DC on his way to visit Holly at our home in Culpeper, VA (quite a feat for a young boy from lower and slower DE). I lost close contact with him for many years as we moved to many other homes over the states, but re-met him when he brought Davis, his seeing eye dog into Governor's Ave. Animal Hospital for health care. But I really learned to love him and appreciate his valor and disposition for the 20 years he was with us as a family. Holly and Ty's love for each other was exemplified every day they were together and I was blessed to have him as a son-in-law for 15 of those years. He enriched my life every minute I shared with him. I know he is at peace now in God's hands.

I would like express my sadness at the passing of Ty. I rode on the van to New Castle with him and got to know him as a great friend who did share his love of horses. I shared my love of old cars and I would describe the way cars are now. As he did with horse races he could imagine. I will miss him not being there but now he can SEE! I went to CR High and graduated in 1970 and my brother Bob in 1973 with Ty.
I am bless because Ty and Max were on the van

Holly and Family - Please accept my condolences and deepest sympathy at Ty's passing. After reading his obituary I know that the world will feel his loss and yours for a long time to come. Though I didn't know Ty well, even though I had grown up just around the corner from him and attended school with him, I felt a special kinship to him, as I too have struggled with Type 1 diabetes since the age of 2. I also attended grade school with Holly. The entire family is in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Death robs us of their presence but it can never take our memories of them. Cherish your memories and the love they fill you with always. Sincerely and with deep respect for the memory of an inspirational and wonderful man.

Johnny, I have thought and remembered you all my life. I remember your Mom and mine being homeroom mothers. I remember making cookies at your house with your Mom. I have never forgotten you, and often mentioned you to Ty. Thank you for posting to this site. You were a very special child, and I'm sure a very special man.

Holly and Family,
It was a joy to work with Ty and his faithful companion, Max, at the Division for the Visually Impaired. I will always remember Ty's heroic courage, great sense of human, and passionate concern for the visually impaired and their contributions to work and society. Ty had a big heart. Condolences to the family. Ty was cool. He invited me to the stables to take some photos of the horses and him riding around the track. I think he was working with High Hope Anita that cold day. On the class trip, we took the subway for miles to no particular destination and back. He told me about this singer/songwriter he really liked called Neil. Not long after and Neil became a favorite of mine, thanks Ty. I left Delaware long ago but do remember Ty and the times. Ty was cool.

Dear Holly,
Please know that Ty and you remain in our prayers as do the unknown donors who made his life so much better, and as you know, Jean's too. It was a pleasure conversing with Ty and you this past year as our horses raced and had success. We enjoyed seeing you in the winners circle as we watched on the computer. I am sure Ty will now watch over all of us.

Dear Holly and family,
Ty and I worked together at DVI for a couple of years and every day working with him was a pleasure. Ty was a true gentleman. He was funny and sincere and kind and lovely. We had so much fun with Max and I was so grateful for his friendship and his stories about horse racing and for letting me mush up with Max when work became a tiny bit stressful. I enjoyed traveling with him to work events, with Max in the back of my SUV. I will miss him terribly. Ty was the best!!!!! xoxoxoxo

My heartfelt condolences to the Case family. I did not know James personally, but he sounded like a caring person who accomplished much and was loved by many. I understand how hard a time like this can be and I am sorry for your loss. May our Heavenly Father, who is the God of all comfort, give you the strength and comfort that you need (2 Corinthians 1:3). Our Heavenly Father understands your pain because he too has experienced the death of his beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Just as God resurrected his Son, he yearns to resurrect our loved ones as well (Job 14:14, 15). I hope these words give you the comfort and peace you need during this difficult time.

I was so fortunate to be related to Ty as he was married to my cousin Holly. She often would tell me how happy Ty made her and how much she loved him. They had a wonderful marriage full of devotion, love and laughter. It truly was a marriage to be envied . Ty really was an inspirational person that was so enjoyable to be around.
