I met Jim through our mutual love of dogs and Golden Retrievers in particular, many years ago when he lived in Chester County, PA. I walked his dogs for him and helped him take care of his Kennel on the week-ends for many years. We also had a good Family friend in common. Jim was a good friend as well. I took two of his best breeding girls home with me when he retired them. Poco and Hiya were not only beautiful they were the sweetest most loving dogs you could ever know.Jim helped me put up a fence for them in the backyard of the house I was living in and built a deck for them to lay down on there as well. He was easygoing and helpful and extremely gifted and talented at construction and carpentry. He built the house he lived in and the kennels where the dogs lived from the ground up.

I didn't see Jim and Elaine much after they moved to Delaware but we stayed in touch when he came to the Kennett Area through our mutual friend, Penny Davies and family. The last time I saw him was at Elaine's memorial service.

I am deeply saddened by his sudden and unexpected death. His family and friends will miss a good and caring man. I am comforted to know he was a man of faith in God and our Savior Jesus and that he is with them now in Glory among his departed family members and surrounded by all the dogs he loved that went before him.

Rest in peace, Jim.

God Bless,

Sonia

Dearest Gwen and Dave,

I am so very sorry to see that your Dad is gone.
I remember stories your Mom told of him and she always smiled saying how handsome he was and that with his deep voice took her breath away..
They shared a great love for the dogs which has passed to you and Dave and some of us that were mentored over the years.
Today I send you many big warm hugs and heartfelt prayers.
May God put peace in your heart and memories to again allow your beautiful smile to grace your faces.
With Love, J

Dear Gwen,
I knew your dad only recently so am happy to see such wonderful pictures of him through the years. I especially love the ones of him at the assembly and of your family sitting together. We send you and Dave our love and condolences, knowing that Jim is resting peacefully.
Much love,
Sue and Richard
