Frank W. Eicherly III age 84 of Bowers Beach, DE, passed away peacefully October 3, 2016 near his family and with his dog Baby in his arms. Frank was born in Columbia, PA October 24, 1931 to Frank & Anna Mary Eicherly. He was a sewing machine mechanic at Hesteco Manufacturing for many years before retirement. Frank was an avid fisherman who loved his son’s boat the Maggie S. Myers. He also managed Thumper Inc. In 1955 Mr. Eicherly was the founder in the building of the Locust Heights public swimming pool.
Surviving Frank are his son Frank “Thumper” Eicherly IV and his wife Jeanie and dog Baby of Bowers Beach, DE, daughter Liz and her husband Lee Pounders of Altoona, FL, grand daughter Heather Ebersole and his great grandsons Aiden, Julian, Christian and their Nana Marrianne, stepson Bryan and Apryl Howard of Hummelstown, PA, a nephew Robert R. McComsey III and fiance’ Susan Swartz of Columbia, PA. Frank was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Ann Eicherly Hedricks.
Memorial Service 1 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Bowers Beach Fire Hall. Please join the family to have dinner and celebrate Frank’s life.
