Gainzee, we're going to miss you here on this earth. You had a way of making every stressful situation just not all that bad. You touched a lot cadets in such a positive manner while with us at the Academy as well as the many Officers you help instruct and work beside. You have been missed since you retired and you'll be missed even more. Go and re-unite with your loved ones above and be sure to look up Fred for me, Good night.

To the family of Eliah Gains:
Hello, my name is Devin Johnson, I am an intern at the DOC Admin building here in Dover. While I did not know Mr. Gains, I received the email about his passing and I am saddened anytime I hear someone loses a loved one in death. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I find comfort in the things I continue to learn about the Bible, especially when it comes to death. Whenever there is an opportunity, I like to try and share some of the comforting promises that Jehovah God makes in regards to death. Below are two links to two brief Bible-based tracts that I share with people in these sad times. I offer my condolences and hope that this information can be of some comfort to all those affected by his loss, especially, you the family.

Eliah, Hey Buddy! I will always remember you and some of the things you showed and taught me (there were so many). You welcomed me when I went to EDC and assisted me with oh so much. But besides the DOC stuff and most importantly, you were a friend that I will always remember fondly. I will always remember "Did you hear it yet today?" (inside joke between him and a select few of his friends)
I am looking forward to the day we will meet again Buddy! But for now, we must carry on from here. Peace To All. Guy

I wish to give my deepest condolences to Eliah's family and friends. I worked with Eliah at the Department of Correction for many years. We worked together as Staff Training Relief Officers. He was truly a gifted and wise person that I had the opportunity to know and work with him. We always enjoyed working together because we had the same principles and work ethic of doing the right thing and getting the job done correctly. We had good times away from work. I never forget the time I was taking my family out to a family outing, and Eliah's wife make us homemade macaroni and cheese to take. I told him it was great except that my children didn't like because they had only ate Kraft box macaroni and cheese. My wife and I regret that we didn't stay in contact with him after he retire from the department or after his wife passed away. I thankful that his daugther and his close friend Willie Allen took care of him after he became ill. Both my wife and I will miss him, but know that he is in a wonderful place were there is no suffering or illness.
