Eleanor became like a great aunt to our family. She was good friends with my mother, Helen Koppenhaver and often accompanied us on Girls Getaway Weekends. We also had her to our home where she enjoyed the family and our chubby pug, Captain. She will be missed and we treasure the memories she left with us. Eleanor was a lot of fun, kind, fashionable, and beautiful. She added to our festivities and her presence will be missed.

I met Ms. Eleanor when I was moving into the house behind her, she was walking her little dog that got away from her and I chased him down for her. She was the kindest person I've met since moving to Delaware, I will miss not seeing her walking her dog everyday and talking all kinds of sports with her. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all the family at this time. She was a wonderful person.

I met Eleanor through my mother, Helen Koppenhaver. Eleanor, my mom and Kathryn Deppen were childhood friends and stayed in touch over the years, although thier lives took very different paths. When I met Eleanor, she was alreday in her early 80's, but don't think for a minute she was old. She was the youngest, smartest, most active, well read 80 something I ever met. We became fast friends and we loved discussing our travels, good books and her love for fashion and shopping. However, I was no match for Eleanor - she was so bright. My husband and she had many conversations about history as they read many of the same books, they too discussed travel and of course sports. Eleanor was always so upbeat and had the best outlook on life. She was a giver and was always giving me a book to read, an article of clothes she no longer needed, or a magazine with a good article. Having lunch with her occasionally was a real treat for both of us. I am going to miss her and all the fun we had over the years. And, I speak for the entire Koppenhaver family when I offer our deepest sympathy to her family. Eleanor was loved dearly by all of us. Rest is peace my dear friend.

My aunt was an amazing lady. She was a very kind person and instrumental in my love for aviation. She never met a stranger, and always welcomed people with open arms. At the age of 92, she has seen many many things. I will always remember when she came to visit us when we lived in England. She was so cool and loved the Beatles. What a wonderful person. I have been so lucky to have known her for my whole life. God bless you auntie.
