After a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, Mary Ford (Corrigan), 58, of Marydel, DE passed away on Wednesday Dec. 10 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Corrigan; and was previously widowed.
Mary grew up in the Baltimore area, where she attended Archbishop Keough Catholic High School. She was employed by Acme for 27 years. Mary loved to read, and enjoyed being in the sun. She could often be found outside with a good book or mowing the lawn with a push mower. Above all else, Mary was a wonderful mother, and cherished spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her loving companion, Jimmy Luff; mother, Hetty Corrigan; her two sons, Eli and his fiancée Brandi, and Joshua and his wife Brittany; siblings, Michael Corrigan and his wife Karen, Terry Altschuler and her husband Michael, Tim Corrigan and his wife Terry; 3 grandsons, Ian Ford, Trent and Matthew Korwek; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 at Pippin Funeral Home. 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE 19934. Friends and family may call two hours prior. Burial will follow services at Sharon Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s honor can be made to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, 111 W. 11th St. Suite 3, Wilmington, DE 19801.
