James Wright Fraze

James Wright Fraze, 82, of Bridgeville, Delaware passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.  James was born on September 25, 1933, in Newport, Delaware to the late James and Sarah Geneva Fraze.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Brenda; granddaughter, Amber; and siblings Eugene and Helen.

James worked for many years in the Newark School District and as a buildings and grounds supervisor for the Mendenhall Museum and also for theTatnall School.  He enjoyed breeding and raising Golden Retrievers. In his younger years  he raised chickens for the development of the polio vaccine. He also enjoyed traveling, and spent many winters in Florida, but always returned home to his love of tractors and farming.  He was a great Dad and spent as much time as possible with his family.

James is survived by his loving daughter, Gwen Hobday and her husband, Dave; sister Catherine Pierson; brother in law, Clarence Riggs and his wife Marion; son in law Glenn Hershey; and longtime companion Leona Wright; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Services are private and will be held at a later date.
