Dorothy H. Powell, of Dover, passed away at Kent General Hospital, on Thursday, November 20, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old. Dorothy was born in Dover, Delaware to the late Lewis and Ethel Holzer. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Heintz.
Dorothy worked for many years at Mellon Bank. She had several hobbies and interests. She loved gathering with friends, crafting, decorating, floral arranging, and playing the piano. Dorothy loved hosting parties, and enjoyed getting together for holidays and special occasions. Most importantly, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Clarence “Buddy”, of 66 years; grandchildren, Amber Hall and her husband Christopher, Corey and Mindy Heintz, and Leah; and great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Ryan, and Kaden.
A Viewing will take place from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 5:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2014, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE 19934.
