Yvonne Delores Blowe

     Yvonne Delores Blowe was born, September 30, 1947 in Norfolk, VA to the Late Annie Walston. Yvonne was raised by her aunt and grandmother.  Yvonne peacefully departed this life on November 10, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving husband Melvin Blowe, daughter Chandra Walston and grandson Darnell Brown. 

      Yvonne was born and raised in Norfolk VA, later after moving to Portsmouth, VA she graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in Portsmouth Virginia. Yvonne would later move from Portsmouth VA to Brooklyn, N.Y. and from there to Stanford CT, and then to her home in Delaware where she resided for the past 17 years with her loving husband Melvin Blowe of 36 years.  Yvonne was the proud mother of one daughter Chandra, and 2 grandsons Darell and Bruce whom she cherished in her heart. 

     Yvonne loved working as a temp, as it gave her the freedom to work independently. She enjoyed working for Pitney Bowes in which she worked for 6 years, as well as working with Smith Barney - Wall Street area NYC. Yvonne loved the art of playing poker in which she became very good at. Yvonne was also a part of a professional bowling league that she loved as much as she loved the art of line dancing. Yvonne enjoyed family gatherings, but to travel with her husband was her highlight, traveling to Cancun, Aruba, Florida Disney every 2 years, Maui and Jamaica to name a few. 

     Yvonne and her husband Melvin became active members of Dover Christian Church under the leadership of Rev. John G. Moore, Sr. where they attended together until she could no longer go. 

     Yvonne was preceded in death by her late mother Annie Walston at a young age as well as her grandmother and twin brothers, Lester, and Leslie Walston. 

     She is survived by her loving husband Melvin Blowe, daughter Chandra Walston, grandsons Darnell Brown and Bruce Alston, one uncle John Walston of Norfolk, VA, a host of in-laws, cousins which are all family that will truly miss her.

     A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Dover Christian Church, 1738 Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE  19904.  Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
