William Gallant Obituary

William J. Gallant, 75, of Dover, Delaware passed away on October 17, 2025.  William was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Robert and Estelle Gallant. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his twin brother, Jimmy Gallant.

William proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps.  During his time in the Marines, he deployed to Vietnam.  He then went on to serve in the United States Air Force for 20 years, where he eventually retired. William enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a part of a motorcycle ministries group called Honor Bound.  He also loved animals, especially those pets in need.  Above all, William loved spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren.

William is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen R. Gallant of Dover, Delaware; children, Robert G. Hudgens of Ocala, Florida; Alena L. Austin (Tim) of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, William J. Gallant, III (Jessica) of Fort Polk, Louisiana, Lauren R. Mink (Nicolas) of Orefield, Pennsylvania, Christina D. Schroeder (Drew) of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Cameron J. Galbreath (Adele) of Felton, Delaware; Grandchildren, Nicholas Austin of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Nicole Townsend (Brittany Townsend) of Midlothian, Virginia, Madelyn Austin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Robert Hudgens (Brittany Hudgens) of Prince George County, Virginia, Malary Austin of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Ashley Hudgens of Prince George County, Virginia, Elizabeth Mink of Orefield, Pennsylvania, Jacob Mink of Orefield, Pennsylvania, Jilian Gallant of Fort Polk, Louisiana, Raelynn Schroeder of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Nathan Mink of Orefield, Pennsylvania, Heath Schroeder of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Morgan Galbreath of Felton, Delaware, Wyatt Schroeder of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Matthew Galbreath of Felton, Delaware and Jenevieve Gallant of Fort Polk, Louisiana; and 1 great grandchild, Leightyn Hudgens of Prince George County, Virginia.

A memorial service for William will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 11:00am at Pippin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior.  Burial for William will be private, but will take place at The Delaware Veteran’s Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
