In loving memory of William (Bill/Whitey) E. Beal, 85 of Milford, Delaware passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William E. Beal, Sr. (Dorothy) and his sister Janet Hamby.
Bill proudly served with the United States Navy for four years on the USS Davis.
Bill was a lifelong truck driver and had a passion for riding motorcycles. Due to his many years as a truck driver, he had the uncanny ability to know where he was anywhere/anytime in the United States (before GPS). He would tell you “We’re getting off at exit 23B about 50 more miles there is a great little diner we can get something to eat”.
Bill owned many motorcycles, Harley Davidson, Honda’s, and Yamahas. Bill found his calling when he purchased a 1997 Yamaha Royal Star and later joined the STAR Yamaha organization. Bill belonged to the local chapter of STAR for many years and forged many wonderful relationships with all members of the organization, who affectionally called him ‘Whitey”. Bill enjoyed the many motorcycle excursions with the STAR organization both locally and long distance which took him from the East Coast to the West coast many times.
Bill later found another passion in his life with Myrtle Stapleford. Neither of them was looking for a relationship, but they both saw something in each other that was undeniable and were married on April 26, 2022.
Bill is survived by his wife Myrtle, his two sons, Chris (Debbie), Jeff (Tammy) and his daughter Leanne. Bill is also survived by his stepdaughters Connie Stidham (Dennis), Carol Messick (Randy), Patricia Pierce (Steve) and Tracy Hitchens (Chris) along with 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, his brother Robert (Marietta).
There will be a celebration of life held in William’s honor on February 23, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Executive Banquet and Conference Center, 205 Executive Drive, Newark, DE 19702.
