Wayne Jackson Obituary

Wayne Jackson, affectionately remembered as a gentle giant with a kind spirit, was born on July 2, 1963 in Dover, DE.  He sadly passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 61. Gone far too soon, his quiet strength, warm smile, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was someone who didn’t need to say much to leave a lasting impression.  A man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures: working in his yard, watching sports, sharing a cold drink, and enjoying a good time with those closest to him. He had a knack for turning an ordinary day into a memorable one with just a chuckle. He was also a true lover of old-school music, often filling his days with the sounds that brought him peace, joy, and nostalgia.

Wayne was deeply dedicated to his craft and took great pride in his work, always giving his best and never cutting corners. He approached each day with commitment and quiet excellence. He was a friend to many, the kind of person you could count on. Always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter the task or time of day. Wayne was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, he never missed a game and cheered for his team with unwavering loyalty, win or lose.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Swain; sisters: Melody Watson (Robert Watson), Jacqueline Rothwell and Beverly Jackson; and brothers Henry Swain and Keith Jackson, who no doubt welcomed him home with open arms.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Jackson; his beloved mother, Madeline Jackson; and his three brothers: Robert (Naomi), Stanley (Yvette) and Renn. He also leaves behind two stepdaughters, Janay Washington (Kevin Johnson) and Ja’Neisha Stevenson (Rocky Brown); three step-grandchildren: Jada Parker, Rahsean Stevenson Jr, and Rahniya Stevenson. He leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that he cherished deeply.

His closest friend, Dino, shared a bond with him that went beyond friendship, always there through life’s journey. At his side was his loyal dog, Thunder, whose quiet companionship brought him comfort and joy every day.

His presence may be gone, but his kindness, laughter, and love will live on in all who knew him.
