Wanda Haviland Tiedemann was born on September 14, 1935 and passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Wanda was born in Stevenson, Maryland the daughter of William Maurice Haviland and Ethel Caples Haviland. Wanda graduated from Milford Mill High School and Union Memorial School of Nursing, both in Maryland.
Wanda worked as a registered nurse for over forty years in Maryland and Delaware. Most recently, she retired from the Caesar Rodney School District after serving the children of the district – most notably during her cherished years at the John S. Charlton School.
Wanda was an avid gardener, golfer, and volunteer. She was most proud of the work she did as a member of the Eleanor Soltner Memorial Golf Outing, raising money to benefit the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware.
Wanda was preceded in death by her loving husband O’Donnell Tiedemann and son Troy Tiedemann.
She is survived by her son Keith, daughter in law Kelly, daughter Jill Frick, son in law Paul Frick, grandchildren Kyle Tiedemann and his wife Clara, Korey Tiedemann and his wife Mary, Erin Frick and her fiancé Zane Coffey, and beloved great-grandchildren, Tucker, Andersen, and Ella.
A private service will take place Wednesday, April 14, 2021, 11 am at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE. Live stream of the service is available at www.pippinfuneralhome.com
