Vivian A. Bassett, of Dover, Delaware passed away on March 16, 2026 at the age of 77. Vivian was a wonderful wife, mother, nana and friend.
Vivian is survived by the love her life, her loving husband of 61 years Robert (Bob) Bassett. Vivian raised three boys and watching her family grow was the joy of her life. Robert Jr (and Linda) Bassett, Brian (and Susan) Bassett and Joseph (and Rhonda) Bassett provided Vivian with 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren who were always on her mind and in her prayers.
Vivian was the eldest of 7 children born to Clarence and Rosalie Voshell (who have predeceased her in death). She went on to do many jobs and trainings, from antique store owner to interior design, but raising a family in faith and being a cherished wife were her top priorities. Vivian loved to read and was always happy to be in her quiet room with her book and her coffee. Music and singing were also big parts of her life and her beautiful voice was heard in many churches through the years. Her Christian faith was always on display and her family rejoices she is peacefully home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A private funeral service was held by immediate family and burial took place at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Sandtown, Delaware. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Hospice staff in Milford, Delaware who were a great help to Vivian and the family during this difficult time.
