Violet Mae McKinney, age 88 of Dover, DE passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on August 6, 2023. Sis was born April 10, 1935, in Harrington, DE, the daughter of Otto & Hazel Balke.
Mrs. McKinney enjoyed crocheting, watching her shows on T.V., and playing slot machines. She enjoyed her dogs and was devoted to her family. She was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Auxiliary for several years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her daughter, Wanda McKinney & 2 sisters, Carolyn Balke & Janice Walls.
Sis is survived by her children, Paula Chidester (the late David), Daniel McKinney (Sally) & Cheryl Cahall (Thomas), her grandchildren, Bryan, Andrew(Amanda) & Christopher McKinney, Branden Pierce, Breanna Painter (Nathan), Aaron Whitaker, Michael Whitman & Addy, Jason & Ayla Chidester; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Remmi & Waylon; siblings, Otto (Nuek) Balke & Jeanie Burke (the late Shaun), a brother-in-law, William Walls, extended family and friends.
Graveside service Friday, August 11, 2023, 12 noon at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE
