Valerie Jean (Peters) Donovan

Valerie Jean Donovan, aged 74, passed away on October 27, 2024 in Dover, DE after a courageous battle against cancer. Born on June 29, 1950, Valerie was a caring mother, grandmother, and a loving wife who cherished her family deeply, always placing them above all else.

Valerie attended Immanuel Lutheran school until 8th grade then graduated from Belvidere High School in 1968. She went on to Cosmetology school in Rockford , IL. She poured her creative energy into various crafts, a passion that brought joy not only to her but to those around her. She was often found cheering enthusiastically at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, whether it was baseball, softball, football, or at the racetrack.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Charles (Chuck) Donovan, her mother Darlene Peters, sister Vicki Benthien, sons Chad Collins and his wife Angie, Trent Collins and his wife Jen Harman, daughter Stacy Collins, and her beloved grandchildren Hunter, Mason, Chase, Catherine, Quinten, and Colton.

Valerie also enjoyed camping and motorcycle rides with Chuck, experiencing the joy of the open road as a loving passenger on their shared adventures.

A private celebration of Valerie's life will be held for family members. She will be missed and her memory cherished
