Tommy Adams, Sr. Obituary

Tommy Adams Sr., 76, born on February 11, 1950, to his parents Helen and Willie Adams (Deceased) of Memphis, Tennessee, transitioned on May 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and the legacy of a life defined by service, strength, and devotion.

Tommy graduated from Howard High School in Memphis, Tennessee and then proudly served in the United States Air Force and carried that same sense of duty and discipline throughout his life. He earned his associate degree in nursing and Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Technology. He believed deeply in the value of education and hard work, principles that shaped both his career and his family life. He worked and retired as a nursing supervisor at Emily P. Bissell Hospital for many years, where he was respected for his dedication, professionalism, and compassion.

A proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Tommy embraced brotherhood, leadership, and community service throughout his life.

Above all, Tommy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 49 loving years of marriage with his First Lady and beloved wife, Ernestine Adams. Together, they built a home grounded in faith, love, and unwavering support for their family.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine; his children: Lisa and (Scott) Wolff; and Tommy Jr. and (Ebony) Adams; his cherished grandchildren: Asia Hasan Adams, Michael Wolff, Journey Adams, Amirah Wolff, and Gabriel Wolff; his siblings, Charles Denise Berg, Angela Franklin Adams, Carla Quinones; Keith Adams; Lloyd Adams, Willie Richard Adams Jr. and a host of nieces and nephews; his extended family: Sierra Waddell, Ayanna Tindall, great grandchildren: Kaeden Waddell, Maison Waddell, and Brielle Tindall; Nicole Graves, Michael Bowden Jr; Diane Rushdan, Shah Hasan, Khan Hasan, and Enzo Rushdan.

His family knew him as a protector, provider, source of strength, and a true leader whose wisdom guided generations.

Tommy will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the many souls he touched and in the family he treasured deeply.

Celebration of life details and address information will be shared once your RSVP has been accepted for May 23 from 1pm-4pm.

We appreciate your understanding as we honor Tommy Adams Sr. privately with close family and friends and ask for privacy and respect during this time.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Sincerely, The Adams Family
