Theresa Ann (Dear) Wilson

Theresa Ann Wilson, 76 of Frederica, passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2026. She was surrounded by family. Theresa was also known as Terry to many friends and family. 

She was born in Wilmington to the late Harry and Sara Bell Dear & Theresa Herron.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Wilson and a brother, Franklin (Buddy) Dear. 

Terry is survived by a son, Bruce Patricella and a daughter, Shannon Patricella Wainwright of Magnolia; 8 grandchildren, Clint & River Wainwright of Frederica, Bruce III, Caitlyn, Ian, Kylie, Bryce, and Anastasia Patricella; a host of great-grandchildren; siblings, Harry Dear, Donald (Peewee) Dear, Frieda Edgar Brenda O'Neal, and Debbie Wright. We also can't forget Resee Cup, the Chihuahua, always Under the covers with her.

Theresa loved thrift store shopping and going on cruises with her daughter. She liked to go camping, fishing, sitting on the beach or going to the slots.  We think she loved to play Greedy while sitting on the front porch more than anything.

Terry had a vibrant spirit and a few firm convictions; one of them was a simple absolute truth-Terry did not like or attend funerals, and she asked not to have one.  She also did not like the cold weather. She would not come out of her pj's and leave the house if there was a chill in the air, so to honor her wish to be scattered with her husband, Michael Wilson, we have chosen to gather in the warmth of May to say our goodbyes.  We have no doubt or so we hope that Michael was waiting with open arms, and it brings us comfort to know they will be together again.
