Smithie L. James – El “Miffy” was born on December 20, 1937, to the late Edgar H. and Roxana Reynolds. She departed this life on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Lofland Park Center, Seaford, DE.
Miffy received her early education in North Carolina. She later attended Delaware Technical & Community College where she studied Social Work.
Miffy loved watching games show. She was particularly fond of Steve Harvey; she loved his antics on Family Feud. She also had a fondness for Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson; she thought he was cute and sexy. In her earlier days, Miffy enjoyed a good card game, especially five – hundred rummy and solitaire.
Most of all, Miffy cherished God and family. She enjoyed spending time with each family her family members. She did not love them all the same, but she did love them all equally. She always enjoyed going to Church and hearing a good sermon and gospel singing. Even up to her final days, she enjoyed hearing scripture readings.
Miffy was preceded in death by two children, (Tyrone) Charles T. Reynolds and Pamela Reynolds; siblings Ninnie Respass, Hattie Elizabeth Scott, James W. Mann, and Shirley Lee Reynolds.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, George (Barbara) Reynolds, Milton, DE; Antonio (Karen) Reynolds, Sr., Lincoln, DE; Robin Reynolds Sorden, Milford, DE; Sheila James, Felton, DE; Valerie Newsome, Houston, DE; Jason (Pamela) James, Sr., Milford, DE; and an additional son, Leroy Tice, Sr., Englewood, N.J. She leaves one Sister Lollie Ruth Harris, Chesapeake, VA. She also leaves thirty-three grandchildren, sixty-six great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, a special friend and care provider, Brenda Anthony, and dear friend Roy Lewis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Jesus Love Temple, 106 S. Walnut St., Milford, DE where family and friends may view 1 hour before. Burial will follow in Milford Community Cemetery. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
