Simon Peter Davis, was born to the late Leroy and Marie Davis on March 28, 1956 in Loris, South Carolina. Simon was known to many as “Pete” or “Bubba,” a caring husband, a loving father, and a dear friend. He was full of love and joy who brought smiles to those around him.
He graduated from Baltimore City College High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources at Wilmington University. He joined the U.S. Air Force on May 4th, 1975 becoming a Security Police Officer; where he served honorably and retired after 20 years on May 19th, 1995. He continued serving in the Air Force as a civil servant; supporting his community as a coach and mentor; and creating a positive impact to many as a father figure. His legacy will live on through the many paths he crossed throughout his life.

Simon passed away on Sunday, May 1st 2022, survived by his wife Teresita “Terri” Perez-Davis. He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his brother, Glen Queen; sister, Jerri Lynn Queen; seven children, LaTanya Sheehan (John), Travis Davis, Dante Hunter, Celeste Leon Guerrero (Chris), Darleen Perez, Adria Wellman (Jack), Betty Miller (Alex); eighteen grandchildren: Simone, Gabrielle, Jasmine, Jaython, Jordan, Jaydeen, Jaeana, Jaelyn, Caeley, Caeleen, Christopher, Uriah, Arianna, Skyler, Emily, David, Alysiana, and Mia; an abundance of great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son Simon Peter Davis Jr.; parents, Leroy Davis, Marie Davis, and Maxine Davis; brothers Adam Davis and Aaron Queen; and his granddaughter Jaelani.
There will be a celebration of life held May 7, 2022 at 11am at Pippin Funeral Home inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave, Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view one-hour before. Refreshments will be served following the service at Dover Christian Church located on 1738 Forrest Ave, Dover, DE 19904. Burial will be on Monday, May 9th at 11am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
