Shirlna Nadine Tolson was born on September 6, 1956 to the late Samuel E. Morris and the late Catherine I. Morris (Poogie) in Dover, Delaware. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family November 10, 2023.
Shirlna met her soulmate February 14, 1974 and graduated from Lake Forest High School in the same year. She worked at Playtex until she married her best friend and loving husband November 18, 1980 and traveled with him throughout his military career. From their union they had four beautiful children. Sherry, as she was affectionately called, loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed date nights, dinner, movies, concerts and just being in her happy place; in the comfort of her home. Shirlna had a great sense of humor even in the midst of her storm and she did not let her illness stop her from living; she lived through it until God called her home.
She is preceded in death by her baby sister Shelly M. Morris. Shirlna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Dennis R. Tolson, four children: daughter Jwan Guy (Christopher) Eglin AFB, Florida, son Jamaal M Tolson (Annika) Alexandria, Virginia, daughter J'Keyah Irene Waller and son Jail! D. Tolson of Magnolia, Delaware; six grandchildren: Jazmin, Haleigh, Jayden, Tai, Khalil and Kamara; one sister, Shirlene Willis of Dover, Delaware; three aunts: Elaine Cuff North Carolina, Mildred Clark and Minnie Harding of Dover, Delaware; one sister-in-law Marcella Jones (Russell) of Milford, Delaware. Bruce Tolson (Cynthia) Washington State and Darryl Tolson (Sharon) Hampton, Virginia, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives too numerous to list whom she loved dearly.
