Shirley Williams

Tuesday, January 28, 1936 was an unusual day because Shirley Bea Mary Lee (Eichelberger) Williams was about to be born.  John and Prudence (Wells) Eichelberger couldn’t be happier by the gifting of their fourth of five children.  She passed away on September 16, 2021 at the home of her sister.

Very much like her mother, she was a quiet reserved personality.  She loved God, her family and the church in that order and was equally devoted to all three.  She was a member of St John A.M.E. Zion Church in Thomasville, N.C. 

She was married to the late Harry Isaac Damon Williams aka I.D. whom she loved unabashedly for more than 50 years. She attended Winston Salem State University (formerly known as T.C. (Teacher’s College) graduating with a degree in elementary education and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Her memory will be cherished for years to come by her sisters Mildred Elizabeth Beck (Hiawatha C. -deceased) and Carol Maria Eichelberger-Parnell (Milton Sr.), nieces, nephews and many church members and friends.

But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.  And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes.
