Sherman Evans Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sherman W. Evans 76 yrs old of Seaford, DE. Sherman departed this life in his home on June 11 2026, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. 

Sherman was born on February 23, 1950 to Sherman E. Evans and Doris H. Evans (Hudson). He joins them both in eternal rest in addition to his brother, Robert W. Evans.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Terri L. Evans (Taylor) of 43 years. His loving daughter, Jennifer H. King and son-in-law James W. King of Laurel, DE. His loving son, Ryan W. Evans and his partner, Danielle Leverage of Laurel, DE. His daughter, Emily B. Evans of Laurel, DE. Three beautiful granddaughters, Taylor Paige, Lillee Grace and Eywa Brent. His handsome first grandson Talis Orion, One of his first great grandchildren, Kaycen Jones. He has one surviving brother, Larry E. Evans of Washington, DC.

Sherman worked for the Dupont Plant for 38 years, working his way up to supervisor before retiring. He also worked for Davmar Developers, owned by David Smith and Mark Hardesty for 26 years. 

He loved motorcycles and had a few over the years with his wife Terri that they enjoyed. His favorite hobby was waterfowl carving since the 1980's, He enjoyed fishing and even more so when he got to take his granddaughters with him. 

Most of all, he loved his family fiercely and deeply. He loved having them all together and sharing laughter. He was the best storyteller, especially stories of growing up as one of three brothers. Anyone that knew him, always had good things to say about him. Joking and laughing were a part of his personality that many adored and loved. 

Sherman wished to be cremated and to wait on his wife, Terri to join him.

The family will be having a celebration of life on Saturday June 27, 2026 2pm at the fellowship hall of Woodland United Methodist Church in Seaford, DE. If you have any questions please contact his daughter, Jennifer King.
