Sheri Lynn (Sears) Paitsel

Sheri Lynn Paitsel (Sears), a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 2, 2025, in Dover, Delaware.

Sheri was born on October 30, 1958, in Durham, North Carolina, to Larry Dickens Sears and Margaret Cooper Sears. From an early age, she embodied a quiet strength, a generous spirit, and a deep love for her family—qualities that would define her throughout her life.

She is survived by her father, Larry Sears; her loving daughters, Tracy O'Neil, Melanie Sears Alexander, and Kristy Whitaker; and her cherished grandchildren: Jerid Hallett, Jasmin Marte Diaz, Patience Alexander, Isabelle Trudel, Brooks Swafford, and Gaige Rigby. She also leaves behind her adored great-grandchildren: Natalia Marte Diaz, Jareth Wharff, Delilah Marte Diaz, and Adeline Marte Diaz. In addition, she is survived by her Aunt’s Harriett Paglusch, Sandy Tucker and Uncle’s Jerry Sears and Glen Melvin along with numerous cousins who she loved dearly.

Sheri was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Margaret Sears.

She found joy in many things—she loved bowling, traveling, and taking vacations to explore new places. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Sheri had a sharp, humorous wit and a playful sense of humor that brought laughter and light to those around her. Her ability to joke and connect with people made her the heart of many gatherings, and her presence will be deeply missed.

A memorial will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 11:00 am, at Willow Grove Church of God, 90 Honeysuckle Road, Camden-Wyoming, Delaware,  where friends and family are invited to celebrate Sheri’s life and legacy.

Sheri’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
