Sergio Armando Wilkerson

Sergio Armando Wilkerson, age 37, of Dover, DE, received his heavenly wings on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus.

He began his primary schooling at Faith Elementary School in Dover, DE transitioning to Caesar Rodney and Dover School Districts. At a young age he gave his life to the Lord. He was baptized at Union Baptist Church in Dover, DE.

Sergio was employed by Bayhealth Orthopaedics for seventeen years as an Orthopaedic Technician. Sergio was particularly skilled in cast application and braces.  He had a passion to learn everything possible to help and share with his patients.  His coworkers and patients alike enjoyed his caring and thoughtful demeanor.  He enjoyed helping people and had a way of putting patients at ease.

Sergio’s joy and leisure included playing video games, traveling and cooking. He was also a master griller and specialized in mixing multiple spices together to make his own blend. He had no problem grilling any time of the year.  As he would say “all you need is a coat or umbrella”. He enjoyed reading, listening to his collection of vinyl records and the discovery channel.  He was an enthusiastic fan of the New England Patriots. You could catch him on any given Sunday watching the game in full New England Patriot gear. During the last several years he enjoyed attending ‘The Best of Delaware’ annual events, which became an annual family gathering, tasting foods from across the state and sampling beer and wine from the first state. Sergio's character and infectious smile automatically gave you a warm and inviting feeling of being family. Many people in his life called him son, brother, nephew and cousin.

He is survived by Katrina Wilkerson (mother), Ciara Wilkerson (sister), Sabrina Scott (Aunt), Calvin and Devan Scott (cousins), Joyce A. Finney and Alice V. Bailey (Great Aunts) and Angie Donovan (Honorary Family).  He is also survived by a host of cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
