Samuel R. MacFaddin

Samuel Robert MacFaddin,89, passed away on March 12, 2025.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorraine G. MacFaddin and his parents Richard MacFaddin and Audria Johnston. Samuel was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Richard “Dick” MacFaddin; brother Thomas MacFaddin; and his sister, Sally Ann Davis. 

Samuel is survived by his daughter, Donna Kerpen and her family including  Eugene Kerpen (Shannon) and their daughter, Brinn Kerpen; Shelly Kerpen (Jerry Barr); Dawn Peleskey (Tony) and her son, Michael Peleskey (Dinneen); Lisa Barrett (John) and their children,  Chrissy, Brittany and Brandon; as well as Christopher Davis, Craig Davis, Jennifer Davis Sweeny and his  brother-in-law, Ed Davis. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews.

A proud veteran, Samuel served in the United States Army for four years.  He had a dedicated career with Leeds Kings Department Store and the Caesar Rodney School District, from which he eventually retired in 2000.  In 1982, Samuel attended Fire School, further expanding his knowledge and skills.  He had a deep passion for traveling, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors.  He was an avid sports fan and cherished spending time with his family and his loyal dogs, Lucky and Radar.  Samuel also looked forward to reunions with his former colleagues at Caesar Rodney.

Samuel’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A visitation for Sam will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 10:00am  to 11:00am at Pippin Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 11:30am at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Road Camden, DE 19934.
