Ruth Geraldine (Bedwell) Gonce

Ruth Geraldine Gonce, 85, gained her wings on November 2, 2024 at home with loving family after a long battle with strokes.

Geraldine was born March 11, 1939 in Dover, to the late Lester Bedwell and Myrtle Flowers.  She was married to Richard B. Gonce after graduating from Dover High School in 1958.  She operated a home day care.

She was a devoted housewife and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, sewing, country music, bingo, word search puzzles and was an avid NASCAR watcher.  Anyone who met Geraldine said she was a loving, caring and strong woman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband Richard B. Gonce, her brothers Donald, William, Henry, Walter, Paul, Richard, Harold and Gary, her sister Jeannette, son-in-law Richard and many family and friends.

Geraldine is survived by her children Sharon Biddle of Dover, Vernon Gonce of Hartly, Gale Webb (Kenny) of Marydel, Allison Gonce of Hartly, grandchildren: Nicholle Hoke, Kyle Webb (Amanda), Joshua Perry, Hunter Gonce, Luke Gonce and a great granddaughter Josephine, and a sister Barbara Nelson.

A gathering  of remembrance and celebration will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE where family  will be receiving friends from 1-3 pm.  Burial will be private.
