Our beloved Ruthie transitioned from this world June 13, 2022. She was 76 years young.
Ruth Mae Hopkins was born to the late Raymond Ware and Ruby Mae Hopkins in Milford, DE. She attended school in Bridgeville, DE. She graduated from Jason High School. Ruth Mae worked for many years as an educator and later decided to open her own business. She became a daycare provider for the State of Delaware. She owned her own business for 30 years.
Ruth enjoyed spending time with her daycare kids, family and friends. Her daycare kids, grandchild and great grands filled her heart with joy and many memories as she watched and reared them as they grew up. Ruth Mae loved to cook for the daycare kids, family and friends. She loved to go shopping with her daughter and grandgirls. We would spend hours in Walmart and QVC, just a few of her two favorite places.
She joins in everlasting glory her granddaughter Mytia Dorman, whom she missed with her whole heart. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 35 years, Michael Barry of Bridgeville, DE; her brother Nelson Alston of Bridgeville, DE; her daughter Lysa Reid and son in law Freddie Reid of Dover, DE; son Quixote Dorman of Georgetown, DE; son Kendall Dorman of California; grandchildren: Myriah Alexander of Ellendale, DE, Mya Reid of Dover, DE, Myranda Reid of Dover, DE, Tierra Dorman of Greenwood, DE; four bonus boys: Skylar Brown, Dover, DE, Ian Brown, Dover, DE, D.J. Brown of Dover, DE, Devon Brown of Dover, DE; bonus daughter Sonja Brown; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, friends and family.
The family extends our sincerest appreciation for all the prayers and generosity received during this difficult time.
