Rosemary Vasquez, age 72, of Camden Wyoming, DE, passed away July 17, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family when she was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rosemary was born on 12/30/1948 to Vincent Kleiber (deceased) and Dolores Kleiber in Brooklyn, NY.
It was in NY that she met and married the love of her life, Gamaliel Vasquez Jr., whom she affectionately called “June”. They were married 52 years and raised 4 wonderful children. They retired in 1992 and settled in "God's country", aka Delaware. They took time for themselves, once their children were grown, and enjoyed cruises and get aways to Lewes, DE and Ocean City, MD as much as possible.
Rosemary was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a devout and faithful catholic and enjoyed listening to Christian music. She had a selfless and willing heart, always quick to serve others and pray for them while battling her own illness. She was an avid reader and a lover of mysteries, crime shows, and HGTV. In addition, she enjoyed an abundant flower garden, which her adoring husband tended to. Her most joyous and prized gifts from God were her children and grandchildren. Her favorite hobby of all was spoiling them.
Rosemary actively volunteered at Immaculate Conception Church and was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society, as well as The Adoration Chapel at Holy Cross Church. Her favorite charitable organization was St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her father, Vincent Kleiber & brother, Vincent Jr.
She is survived by her husband Gamaliel Vasquez Jr.; her children, Christina Vasquez, Linda Imprescia (Peter), Lisa Brown (Chris) and Christopher Vasquez (Gina); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Harrison, Tyler, Alex, Austin, Blake, Chase and Christopher; her mother, Dolores; her siblings, Margaret Healy(Dan), Dolores Weber, and Richard Kleiber (Kelly), many sister and brother-in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and life long friends. Not to be forgotten is her loving and faithful canine companion, Jake.
A very special thank you to Bayhealth Kent General Oncology and Radiation Oncology departments, especially the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff members that took such wonderful care of her for years, whom she respected, trusted and loved dearly. Also, her caring hospice nurse Christy and cna Amanda.
Visitation Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marydel, MD with procession to follow after mass to Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
