Ronald W. Jester

On July 16, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family, Ronald W. Jester went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was welcomed by his precious grandchildren Chandler Griffith and Rachel Brandner.

Ron was born on October 18, 1941, in Wilmington, Delaware.  He was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Jester.  Upon graduating from Felton High School in 1959, he married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Blu Betts and enlisted in the United States Navy.  Following an honorable discharge after four years of service, he worked for the State of Delaware as a Systems Analyst and retired after 35 years.  In addition to working for the state, Ron was also a long-term poultry farmer.  After retiring from the state, he became a beloved school bus driver and contractor for the Lake Forest School District for 30 years.

From a very young age, he demonstrated an amazing God given gift for singing and playing the piano and organ.  He dedicated this talent to many churches, as well as providing dinner music in fine establishments throughout the area.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 66 years and three adoring daughters, Tammy (Chuck) Brandner, Dayna (Scott) Strickland, and Rhonda (Kurt) Papke.  He is also survived by two grandsons, Spence Griffith and Chip (Britt) Brandner, and a step granddaughter, Heather Strickland with her son, Bo.

Service will be Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Manship Chapel, 4912 Burnite Mill Road, Felton, Delaware at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Manship Chapel in Felton, Delaware, where Ron was an active member for most of his life or to Delaware Hospice.
