Robin H. Thayer, 82, of Dover, Delaware, passed away on April 4, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Henry C. Thayer and Eleanor F. Connor Thayer.
Robin served as a Maryland State Trooper from 1963 to 1976. He then worked as a radio technician for the Maryland Natural Resources Police, retiring as a lieutenant in 1993. In his later years, he volunteered with the Chesapeake Railroad for four years and worked for Ervin King & Sons Construction in Dover. He found a welcoming community and lasting friendships among the Amish in Dover.
He is survived by his son, Robert G. Thayer; his daughter, Wendy F. Thayer; his grandchildren: Amanda, Hunter, Jayson, Henry, and Bailey; and his great-grandson, Mason. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Donna Eveland, whom he loved dearly.
A memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
