Robert Bouchal Obituary

Robert D. Bouchal (Bob), 86, of Greenwood, DE, passed away on January 9, 2022.

Bob was born in Annapolis, MD, the youngest child of Joseph and Eleanor Bouchal.  He was married to Edeltraud Bouchal (Susie) for 53 years and is survived by his children, Kathy Powell, Donna Lough, Renee Haley, and Mike Bouchal.  Bob also had 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bob was funny, loving, a good husband and a good father.  He was the kind of dad you could count on, who taught us so many important life lessons, including how to be a person of integrity.  Bob's biggest challenge was the grief he felt when our mother passed away in 2013.  He will be greatly missed, but we are happy that he is reunited with our mother in heaven.
Bob did many things in his life that reflected his love for his country, community, and family.  He served in the Naval Reserves as a young man. He worked for the telephone company for 37 years where he had a reputation for being an excellent boss and friend.  He was a member of the Lions Club, using his artistic talents to help build floats (including Charlie Brown, which many people remember).  Bob also had a love for classic cars and boating, including sailing and powerboat racing.  In fact, he still has a car in the garage that he was working to complete, his beloved 1968 Mercury Cougar.

Photos of Bob will surely include Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, guns, or chocolate - some of his favorite things.  He loved woodworking and clock repair, which he did a lot of after he retired from the telephone company.

At his request, no service will be held at this time.  However, the children will be holding a celebration of life for Bob and Susie at a later date, which will be announced to family and friends.
