Robert Daisey Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert J. Daisey, who entered the arms of his Lord on February 23, 2025 at the age of 90. Robert was born on April 5, 1934 in Chincoteague, Virginia and graduated from Chincoteague High School in 1953.

Robert dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Air Force, where he earned the respect of his peers and superiors alike. His service, which included a tour in Vietnam, was marked by a deep sense of duty and sacrifice. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he pursued further education and built a successful career in real estate and sales.

While serving in the Air Force, Robert met the love of his life, Gisele. Their union was one built on love and respect, and they shared 68 years of marriage, a testament to the strength of their bond. Together, they raised two sons, William and James, and built a family that was filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Robert’s devotion to his family, friends, and community is immeasurable.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Arthur Daisey and Mary Slusser; his beloved guardian Doris Pointer; his brother Dan Slusser; his sister Mitzi Tango; and his grandson Timothy Knox. He is survived by his cherished wife, Gisele; sons William and James Daisey; grandsons Austin Daisey and James Benton (partner Amanda Reyes); and his great-grandson Teka Daisey. He also leaves behind many beloved relatives in France.

A man of many talents, Robert had a lifelong passion for country music. In his youth, he played guitar and wrote songs, and he always held a special admiration for the legendary Eddy Arnold, whom he had the privilege of meeting several times throughout his life. Music brought him joy, but it was his work ethic and the love he showed for others that left a lasting impact on those around him. His unwavering commitment to providing for his family, his selfless attitude, and his genuine care for others will forever be remembered.

Robert’s legacy is one of service over self. He constantly put the needs of others before his own, always offering a helping hand. He taught his family the value of hard work, love, and respect, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.

Robert has left an irreplaceable hole in this world, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We take comfort knowing that his legacy of love, service, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
