Dover- Robert Frank Bryant passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Bayhealth Dover. He was 72.
Mr. Bryant was born May 20,1947 the son of the late Joe Frank and Daisy M. (Thomas) Bryant.Robert was the third child of the family. He graduated Kinterbish High School in Cuba, Alabama in 1966. He later relocated to Detroit, Michigan.
Robert accepted the Lord at an early age at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Choctaw County, Alabama.
Robert was employed by the Budd Company, in Detroit Michigan until he retired. He later relocated to Amityville, New York where he met and married Edith Fields.
He was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James W. Carter Jr. where he served as a Trustee and Vice President of the Usher Board. He moved to Delaware in 2004 where he joined Solid Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop James Lott, where he served as an Usher there.
Robert loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking traditional southern meals such as, pan-fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread, and sweet potatoe pies. Robert also liked fishing.
In addition to both parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Cora M. Bryant – Rice, and a brother; Evan Thomas
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years Edith (Fields) Bryant;
Brother, Eddie L. Bryant (Emma) Georgia; Cousin, Georgia Brooks (Ceazer), Alabama; brother n laws Archie Wilson and Charles Wilson (Gladys) of Dover. He became close to Edith’s cousins Herbert and Geneva Sudler also he was very close to a nephew Lewis (Catherine) Harvey which he thought of surrogate children. Sister n laws; Helen O. Morris Milford, Elder Bernice Conner Dover Evangelist Pauline Smith of MD and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon , Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Solid Rock Baptist Church 113 N. West St. Dover, DE. 19904. Where friends may call after 11am. Burial will be at a later date. Services provided by Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave. 19934.
