Robert L. Blew

     Robert L. Blew, 88, of Harrington, DE, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday February 12, 2025.

     He was born on November 21, 1936 in Lansdale, PA to the late Claude L. Blew Jr. and Lena V. Blew, formerly of Telford, PA. Robert is survived by his sister, Loretta M. Swenk of Amarillo, TX.

     Robert was married to his beloved wife, Barbara A. Blew for 67 years. She resides in Harrington, DE, along with their granddaughter, Heather. He is also survived by his son, Robert L. Blew Jr. and his wife Deborah of Milford, DE; his daughter Kathy J. Tannehill and her husband Gerald, of Troy, MO; and his daughter June M. Miller of Harrington, DE. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debora L. Blew, who passed in 2022.

     In addition, Robert leaves behind nine grandchildren: Melissa (husband Kyle), James, Nikolas (wife Brooke), Branden (wife Montana), William (wife Dominique), Henry, Tabitha, KaSandra, and Heather, as well as ten great-grandchildren. 

     Robert had a long career as a batchman at Trap Rock Concrete Company in Philadelphia, PA. He was a proud member of the International Operating Engineers Local 542 for over 50 years. Later in his career, Robert worked at H.R. Ewell Trucking Company in East Earl, PA, until his retirement, and he was also a member of the Central Pennsylvania Teamsters Union in Reading, PA. 

     An avid sports fan, Robert enjoyed watching NASCAR races and cheering on the Phillies, Flyers, 76ers, and, of course, the Eagles. He also had a passion for all types of fishing. With his signature saying, "See you in the funnies," Robert always left a smile on those around him, embodying his lighthearted and joyful spirit.

     A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. A public viewing will take place from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. The graveside service will take place immediately after at Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, DE. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at South Bowers Fire Company, 57 Scotts Corner Rd., Milford, DE 19963.
