Richard Lee Krueger, Jr., of Smyrna, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 54.
Richard was born April 12, 1968 in Dover, DE to Esther(Horn) Krueger and the late, Richard Lee Krueger. Richard was a Graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1986, and had been a member of the Dover Senators Band all 4 years. He then graduated from Millersville University in Lancaster , Pennsylvania in 1990 with a Bachelors Degree in Library Science. Richard then continued his education at Penn State University, receiving his Masters Degree in Library Science in 1992.
Richard had a great sense of humor & a deep love for family and friends. He was a humble, caring, and giving man who loved music, and recently took up painting & doing artwork. He had worked at various libraries throughout his career, and concluded his career as the Director of the Dover Air Force Base Library for 5 years.
Richard fought and won a tough battle with Leukemia, which unfortunately cost him in the long run with various future health related issues.
Richard is survived by his mother, Esther(Horn) Krueger, with whom he resided; his sister Rebecca Manahan Martin & husband, Ed, of Dover; as well as numerous family members and friends across the United States.
Graveside Services will be held 2pm, Sunday, January 29, 2023, in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Inc, 26345 Network Place , Chicago, Illinois 60673-1263.
