Richard J DeMass

     Richard J. DeMass, of Frederica, DE, passed away peacefully in his home, Saturday, November 12, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was 92.

     Richard was born February 10, 1930 in Wolcott, New York to the late, Howard & Verna(Gray) DeMass. He served proudly in the United States Air Force for over 20 years before retiring. Upon entering the private sector he bought and sold produce for 23 years, then 3 years for the Village of Wolcott before calling it a career.

     Richard was a Life Member of the V.F.W, and the American Legion, both in New York; a member of the Web Footers Walking Club, and the German American Club.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise VanDeusen, and his brother, Leland DeMass.

     Richard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Paula(Hies) DeMass; 3 sons, Steven V. DeMass & wife, Kathleen, of Red Creek, N.Y.; Richard H. DeMass & wife, Lisa, of Tacoma, Washington; and Michael J. DeMass & wife, Sheila, of Niceville, Florida; 2 brothers, William DeMass, of Redfield, N.Y., and Henry DeMass, of Hilton, N.Y. 9 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.

     Services with Full Military Honors will be held 11am, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
