Paula Ruth MacDonald, a lifelong resident of Delaware, passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2025 at the age of 63. Born on March 27, 1962 Paula was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Yvonne MacDonald.
She is survived by her life partner, Dale Hall; her two sons, Buckhenery Hawkeye MacDonald and Maxcoty Willard MacDonald and his wife Brittany; her Godparents, George and Pauline Degaraff; and her seven siblings: Joan Wutka, George MacDonald and his wife Leslie, Diane Knotts, Richard MacDonald and his wife Beverly, Phillip MacDonald and his wife Cyndi, Linda Haxton and her husband David, and Allan MacDonald. Paula was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Vanderlee and brothers in law Joseph Wutka and John Knotts. She also leaves behind a large, loving family of nieces and nephews.
Paula grew up in Camden, Delaware and graduated from Caesar Rodney High School. She dedicated much of her working career to Kunkle, where she delivered auto parts to shops across Delaware. Through her work, she built countless friendships and became known for her joyful, adventurous, and spirited personality. Those who knew her could tell right away that she embraced life fully, often inviting others to laugh alongside her.
A devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt and a diehard supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Paula’s passions extended to her love of animals, which she shared with Dale—especially their dogs and birds. She enjoyed music, gardening, and peaceful afternoons spent outside. In her later years, she discovered a fondness for diamond art, a hobby she found calming and rewarding.
Paula will be remembered as a woman with a radiant spirit, a kind heart, and a love for life that touched everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Her family finds comfort in the words of Footprints in the Sand:
"My precious child, I never left you during your time of trial. Where you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
