Patricia (Pat) F. Moran, 80, of Dover DE, went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2024. Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Amy (Howells) and Nicholas E. Foreacre.
Mrs. Moran graduated from Chichester High School (Boothwyn, PA) in 1962. Pat received a total of 15 awards at her graduation ceremony for everything from leadership and academics to science and music. She played the French horn in the marching band for her entire high school career and earned the John Philip Sousa Award as the outstanding bandsman. She later attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as a floor nurse for both Lankenau Medical Center (Malvern, PA) and Crozer-Chester Medical Center (Upland, PA). Pat helped develop curriculum for nursing education and taught nursing courses at both Christiana Hospital (Newark, DE) and the Nursing School of Wilmington, DE. Later in her career, after moving to Florida, Pat worked as a floor supervisor at the hospital in Port Charlotte, FL, where she also served as a nursing instructor. She retired in 2009 upon moving back north to Magnolia, DE.
Pat was married to Bruce M. Moran for 50 years. Early in their marriage, the Morans lived in Ogden, PA and were members of the First Baptist Church of Ogden. Pat served as a member of the choir, a high school girls Sunday School teacher, a Deaconess and a ladies ministry leader. After moving to Englewood, FL in 1995, the Morans were members of Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood. They were very active in their adult Sunday School class, planning group events and trips. Upon moving back to the Dover area, they joined Faith Community Church, where Pat was involved with the Prime Timers until her health began to fail.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, counted cross stitching, acrylic painting and ceramics. Pat had a love of family and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She spent countless hours preparing games, crafts and activities for her grandchildren and as a result, Mom Mom and Pop Pop’s home in Florida became affectionately known as “Camp Mini-Ha-Ha”. She enjoyed entertaining and her home was often open to missionaries, guest speakers and college students who were visiting the Church and needed a place to stay. Later in life Pat played the French horn in the Chichester alumni marching band, including performances at Disney World.
Mrs. Moran was predeceased (2021) by her beloved husband Bruce M. Moran. She is survived by four children; Karen Harner and husband Dan of Bradenton, FL; Kimberly Lawrence and husband Kevin of Grasonville, MD; Kevin Bruce Moran and wife Melody of Alva, FL; and Kristen A. Boyd and husband Bobby Jr. of Wilmington, DE. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
