Pamela J Sales, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abner and Jessie
Hunter Moore, also known as Pamela Jo, was born February 23, 1948 in
Merritt, North Carolina, the sister of a tight-knit family of twenty-two siblings.
In her youth, she recognized the need for a Savior, so she joined the Bethel
Missionary Baptist Church of Merritt, North Carolina, at an early age where
she sang in the choir. Pamela always had that big and bright smile on her
face that would melt your heart. Her spirit would light up a room and her
sense of humor was one of a kind and her wit was unmatched. She loved
everyone and she never uttered the word “no”, but she was known to say
“Lord, have mercy!” Pamela was educated in the Pamlico County School
District, completing her formal education, she then moved to Delaware
where she worked at Delaware State University, where she retired after
more than thirty years of dedication. Pamela Jo loved the Lord, she was a
member and served at The Cross Church of Nazarene. She was joined in
Holy Matrimony to the late Leslie Sales, who preceded her in death after
sixteen years of marriage. Also, preceded in death by her parents Abner
and Jessie Hunter Moore, her sister Angela Moore Guion and her brothers
William P. Moore, Abner Moore Jr. and Alvin Moore Sr. She taught her
children and grandchildren the meaning of grace and dignity under
pressure and to trust in Jesus Christ who would NEVER fail. Her faith was
unshakeable.
Pam was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
relative and friend to all. Surviving to cherish precious memories are her
children, Shannon Moore, Shawon Morris (Henry), Rasheda Blair
(Denano), grandchildren Isaiah Moore (Shantel), Bryheem Lawhorn, Tiara
