Private First Class Markus Thomas Catchings passed away on July 22, 2018 while serving his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Markus Catchings was born January 27, 1998. Markus was a graduate of Positive Outcome Academy and also attended Delaware Technical College for one year. Markus decided to enlist in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country. Markus graduated at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and his first duty station was at Camp Fiji in Gotemba, Japan.
Markus loved Minecraft video games and WWE wrestling. Markus was always smiling and he grew up to be a very loving and caring person. He loved his twin brother “Markise” and watched over him. Markus will be missed by all who knew him.
Markus is survived by his mother Gladys Catchings and his siblings: Markise Catchings (twin brother), Glenn Catchings (brother), Chandler Catchings (brother), Kyland Catchings (brother), Latrell Catchings (brother), Chris Catchings (brother), Richard Butcher (brother), Teresa Butcher (sister), Lachay Catchings (sister), Tilishia Tolson (sister), and Jane Downs, his nanny, who is always there for the family; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and fellow Marines. “Semper Fi; nephews that he loved dearly, Sa’Mahi Tolson and Sa’Mah O’Neal. He is preceded in death by his father Sherman L. Catchings and nephew LCPL Martell McInnis.
A funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M.
