Otho Graves Lander, Jr

Otho “Dicky” Graves Lander, Jr, 62, of Felton, passed away on February 15, 2025.  Otho was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia to Otho G. and Sylvia Lander. 

Otho is preceded in death by his father, Otho G. Lander, Sr.; grandmother, Catherine Dill; aunts, Dorothy Dill, Rita Lloyd, Audrey Fontello, Mary Lou Arrington; and uncle Roy Dill.

Otho graduated from Lake Forest High School in 1981 and retired from Dover Electric Supply in February 2022 after 35 years.  Otho looked forward to retirement, being able to travel for Cornhole events and doing his home projects. He was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Philadelphia Phillies. Otho’s hobbies included Coed Softball, Bowling; serving as Secretary for many years, Horseshoes; running sanctioned tournaments, Golf and most recently cornhole.  He traveled to Wisconsin, Arizona, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and South Carolina to compete in cornhole tournaments.  Cornhole provided many new friends that are family in which the family of Otho greatly appreciates their support and kindness.

Above all, Otho was a family man.  He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially the light of his life, his grandson Cole, who called him Poppa O, and his daughter, Jen who was his pride and joy.  He was a kind, caring and giving soul.  He enjoyed sitting in his rocking chair on the patio with his favorite beverage in hand, beagle by his side, dreaming about projects and things he wanted to do.

Otho is survived by his wife of 38 and a half years, Diane Welch Lander; daughter, Jennifer Davis (Kyle); grandson and light of his life, Cole Davis; mother, Sylvia Lander; brothers, Billy Lander and Fred Lander; Sister in laws, Roxane Miller (Harry) and Joyce Welch (Michael); Nieces, Tabbitha Steindl (Matthew) and Tanya Fried; Aunts, Carole Lander and Jean Brown; as well as many cousins and very dear friends.

A memorial service for Otho will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:00pm at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE 19934.  The family will receive friends one hour prior.
